Miami Heat are headed to the Eastern Conference Finals.
The fifth seeded Heat have upset the first seed Milwaukee Bucks in a 5 Game series. The reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play in this game due too an ankle sprain injury he suffered in Game 4.
The Heat were led by Jimmy Butler and Goran Dragic who both had 17 points. The Heat now advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, their first since 2014. They will have too wait and see who their next opponent will be either the Raptors or the Celtics.
It was a team effort tonight for the Heat with 6 players in double digits. Jae Crowder scored 16, Jimmy Butler 17, Bam Adebayo 13, Goran Dragic 17, Tyler Herro 14, Kelly Olynyk 12.
Giannis was on the bench, encouraging his teamates and cheering them on.
The Bucks highest scorer was Khris Middleton who scored 23 points, DiVincenzo had 17, Brook Lopez 15, Wesley Matthews 11 and Marvin Williams 11. They got off to a hot start in the first quarter going on a 28-15 run. Miami answered that with a 30-9 run of its own.
What now for Giannis?
Coming into Game 5 the Bucks were down 3-1 and weren’t playing too the level that many expected in the play-offs. Milwaukee was one of the favorites this year to not only make the Finals but win a championship.
There have been rumors circulating around the NBA that there is interest from teams like the Toronto Raptors and the Miami Heat. There is also reports that Golden State are also interested and have now secured the 2nd overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft that they can use as a trade piece.
